Dr. S.Sathiyamoorthy B.E., M.E., Ph.D., Principal of J.J. College of Engineering and Technology has over twenty two years of experience in teaching, research and industry.

He has completed B.E Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Regional Engineering College , Tiruchirapalli in 1995. M.E. degree in Control and Instrumentation at Guindy Engineering College , Anna University , Chennai in 2002. He has received his Doctorate from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli in 2008.

He has attended many National and International conferences and workshops. He has published five papers in leading international journals. He has given numerous expert lectures in various forums and Colleges in area of Neural Networks and Fuzzy logic control.

DEPARTMENT LABS

The department is studded with state-of-the-art laboratories with a floor area of 7600sq.ft congenial not only to conduct the experiments in the syllabus but also to expand their practical thinking by carrying out experiments beyond the syllabus. A well furnished seminar hall with sq.m.of 546.

• Calibration facilities for Temperature and Pressure sensor and instruments
• Programmer for embedded chip in all manufacturer

Computer control of Processes laboratory and Process control laboratory

This lab has many sophisticated equipments like Temperature, Pressure, Level and Flow process trainer, Multi process trainer, Control valve characteristic trainer with valve positioner, Muffle furnace, Temperature controller kit, Process control simulator. PLC, SCADA, MATLAB software.

Industrial Instrumentation laboratory and Transducer laboratory

This lab has equipments such as Microprocessor based UV – Visible Spectrophotometer, Calibration of Pressure gauge and Temperature sensors and Flapper nozzle kit, Speed, Pressure, Flow measuring devices and Chemical analysis meters. Different Transducers.

Microprocessor and Micro controller laboratory and Design Project Lab

 

This laboratory imparts the different equipments such as Microprocessors and Micro controllers. It is well established with 8085 m P, 8086?P Trainer,  8051 m C and Keil software. Real time applications like Traffic Light control, Stepper motor control are also performed in this laboratory

Integrated circuits, Electronic devices and circuits Electric circuits laboratory

This is a unique laboratory that provides the elaborate knowledge about basics of electronics electric circuits. Oscillators, Amplifiers, ICs, Measurement of Power and frequency. Circuit design and implementation by using specialized software like MULTISIM and TINA.
